ProView is a protein DAS client written by Roger Pettett. The
client, written in perl, is designed for viewing protein seqeunce
feature in 2D. These feature are presented to the user as an
interactive graphical table. In addition to the sequence features, ProView also formats all
scientific literature references contained in the SwissProt entry.
Originally written as a dare, ProView has been used to test the
Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute's Interpro and SwissProt DAS servers.
ProView has proved very popular as a protein DAS viewer. This
popularity may, in part, be due to the lack of other protein
DAS viewers.
